To me, green living means ...

"As Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Local Government has an important role providing leadership in greenhouse action and engaging local businesses and residents in driving change in the community.

“On a personal level, if I want to change our environment, I have to change myself.  Therefore, green living to me has meant changing my environment at home by undertaking an energy audit, installing rain water tanks and energy-efficient light globes, changing to bio-fuel in my van, and increasing walking and bike-riding.
“I commend the organisers of the “Green City Festival” in providing this free community event specifically aimed at showcasing sustainable living, and I hope to see you in Elder Park on Sunday 17 February 2008.”

The Right Honourable, The Lord Mayor Michael Harbison.

"As a bush walker I have been fortunate enough to experience some of the most beautiful and fragile environments in Australia and elsewhere in the world. To me, green living is about saving those environments for our children and their children to enjoy and care for. Whether it be recycling our shower water or developing legislation to tackle climate change, I know that as individuals we can all make a difference.

To live green we need to use, not abuse, our planet’s resources."

Senator Anne McEwen
